Heat Wave

Heat wave reprieve – Use this time wisely!

Do not become complacent. With the recent cool change, this is the message David Capp of local air conditioning company Absolute Cool has.

High temperatures are only a taste of what the upcoming summer months will bring. Now is the time to act:

  • Service your air conditioner, or
  • Replace your air conditioner if it is old.

This last week saw higher than usual temperatures. It is important to make sure your air conditioning system is the most efficient it can be for the upcoming summer months.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting November 2018 to February 2019 to be warmer than average, David says it was imperative for families to ensure efficiency in their air conditioning systems. Air conditioners are a reasonably large investment and energy efficiency should be a major consideration.

“Average household energy usage is set to peak in line with rising summer temperatures as the use of air conditioning becomes imperative for comfort,” David said.

Air conditioners can be one of the bigger silent energy suckers in your home. Ergon Energy have several energy saving tips online ensuring your air conditioner is not a Super Sucker.

“We highly recommend that when choosing an air conditioner for your home you make sure you talk with qualified air conditioning mechanics who will correctly size up your needs with the most efficient application for your home,” David said.

Purchasing the cheapest air conditioner will cost you more in the long run! Ensure your new air conditioner is:

  • Energy efficient,
  • Fits your needs,
  • Installed correctly.

Use these cooler weeks to ensure your existing air conditioner is serviced and working efficiently.
